The purpose of an air preheater inspection is to evaluate the components and sub-systems of the air preheater to identify those items that may require maintenance, adjustment, repair or replacement immediately, or during the next scheduled outage. Following the physical inspection of the air preheater components and sub-systems the customer is provided a detailed, written report on the status of each component and sub-system and a list of all items identified as in need of attention.  In most cases, the adjustments and maintenance can be completed during the inspection timeframe. As the utility industry moves toward longer outage cycles, regular periodic inspections become more critical and are essential to an effective preventive maintenance program.
